Hi Me Ra,

I have become a recent & HUGE fan, as of the past three days I think LOL....I found your blog through another blog that I stalk, & now yours is in my favorites as well. Thank you so much for your tips & recommendations for firework photos, things like that are so appreciated by amateurs like me. I do have one question for you though. I have a few lenses to choose from, (70-300 IS, 70-200, 50, & 18-55) & I am not sure which one will be best, so what do you use, &/or what would you recommend?

Thank you

AWESOME TIPS MeRa! I hope it's OK if I post a few more...
Carey tip #1: Be sure to try to catch firework pics at the BEGINNING of the show before the sky gets too smokey!
Here's one I took last year using the same camera-on-the-knees technique (I guess that's a popular method!)

Carey tip #2: Try to catch some of the ambiance of the night without the fireworks, too. Here's one that I took by putting my camera on a cement curb and letting the shutter stay open for about 4 or 5 seconds (too long for a knee-perch):

I'm off to enjoy my 4th!
Have a great day, MeRa!
