I love Father’s Day because if anyone deserves the “Father of the Year” award, it is Brian.
It is one thing to have had a great dad in your childhood. But when your childhood was rocky, and you feel like your trying to figure out fatherhood from scratch…Brian deserves the award for Best Recipe of “Being a Dad, Made from Scratch!”
When asking the kids what they love about their dad so much, Pascaline gets all red and swoony. “Because he’s so handsome. He’s my prince.”

Pascaline has always been a bit territorial when it comes to Brian and often reminds me that since she and dad are getting married, Blaze and I will be needing to find a new place to live. “BUT”…she adds “You are always welcome to come for dinner.”
But even beyond his swoony good looks, I think the kids and I love Brian most for his endless ability to surprise us all!
I don’t know many dads who will walk into a friend’s garage for the first time and decide to hang upside down. 
How can you not applaud a dad like this!

dads are so important. good ones are worth even more. i was reminded yesterday how all the little things that i don’t pay attention actually impact our kids. little things i say or do that create memories for them. it’s such an awesome responsibility. happy day brian! i think our wives make it easy.

my father’s day will be delayed…as i’m seeing my daddy in early july…and i expect lots of pictures.
